Who edits Korea Convenience Food Guide?
Pages are published under the editorial name Hanipgyeol Food Study Group.
Hanipgyeol Food Study Group is an editorial name used for this site, not a registered organisation. It claims no members, experts, laboratory tests or tastings. Corrections and questions go to info@kcstorefood.org.
What does Korea Convenience Food Guide never do?
It never recommends or ranks products, makes health claims, or reads a missing label line as “free of” anything.
| Rule | Basis |
|---|---|
| No product, brand or store recommendations or rankings | Editorial policy; the guide explains labels, not products |
| No disease, health or weight-loss claims | Act on Labeling and Advertising of Foods, Article 8 (as excerpted by MFDS) |
| A blank or missing value is never “free of” | MFDS allergen guide: allergens are listed whatever the amount; absence is not proof |
| No vegetarian, vegan or halal verdicts | Only a valid certification for a product can state this |
| No invented nutrition values | Data pages wait for a dated snapshot |
Which sources does Korea Convenience Food Guide use?
Korea Tourism Organization articles for food groups, and MFDS guidance and public data for labels and nutrition.
Each source was re-opened on 22 October 2026 before use. A source that could not be opened is listed with that fact and the pages that depend on it stay in draft. Product promotions in tourism articles are not repeated.
Are the pictures on Korea Convenience Food Guide real product photos?
The home food picture is an AI-generated example of unbranded food, and the label diagram is drawn by the site. Storefront photographs are real photos with a date, author, source and licence shown below each one.
What visit data does Korea Convenience Food Guide record?
There are no accounts or cookies. Label and nutrition inputs stay in your browser. Nearby-store search sends your coordinates to this site’s server and the public data provider only after you allow location. Page requests can be recorded by an outside visit-log service.
Nearby-store coordinates are sent in a POST body, not a page URL, and are not stored by this site. The nearby API is excluded from the page-visit logging middleware. Hosting and provider infrastructure may apply their own log policies.
For each page request, by people and crawlers alike, the server can send the time, the address requested including its query string, the browser identifier (user agent), the IP address, the referring page and the country to an outside visit-log service the site uses to count search and AI crawler visits. No cookies or advertising trackers are set.
The name of that service and how long it keeps the log are not yet published here. Requests to see or delete visit data can be sent to info@kcstorefood.org.
