# Korea food nutrition reference basis

> Every nutrient value in the public Korean nutrient data is tied to a basis amount and a unit, which this page will tabulate once a snapshot is collected.

Korea Convenience Food Guide has not yet collected a response from either source, so no values are shown.

## Which fields record the food nutrition basis amount?

The nutrient content basis amount, the serving reference amount and the food weight.

(Data table: to be filled after the reference date is confirmed)

## Which units does the food nutrition basis data use?

kcal for energy, g for most nutrients and mg for sodium and several minerals, as named in the standard data columns.

(Data table: to be filled after the reference date is confirmed)

## Do the two food nutrition basis sources overlap?

Yes. The standard data gathers the MFDS DB with other national tables, so the two are not counted as separate surveys.

Korea Convenience Food Guide does not decide whether a product is safe for you, vegetarian, vegan or halal. Recipes and packaging change, so the label on the package you bought always takes precedence over anything shown here.

## Which data snapshot and date does this use?

| Data | Reference date | Site calculation |
| --- | --- | --- |
| MFDS food nutrient DB (Open API) | To be filled after the reference date is confirmed | Value for amount eaten = value at basis × amount ÷ basis (same unit only) |
| National integrated food nutrient standard data | To be filled after the reference date is confirmed | - |

## What else do people ask about food nutrition basis amount?

### Why are there no numbers yet?

No dated snapshot has been collected; this page stays in draft until one is.

### Is a blank value zero?

No. A blank means not provided.

### Does the DB list convenience store stock?

No. It is a nutrient database, not a store inventory.

### Can a DB record be used for my product?

Only when the product match is confirmed by report number and manufacturer.

### Are ml and g converted?

No. That needs density, which the data does not give.
